"The Pursuit of Happyness" is a 2006 American biographical drama film directed by Gabriele Muccino, starring Will Smith as Chris Gardner and Jaden Smith as his son, Christopher. The  script, written by Steven Conrad, is grounded on Chris Gardner's bio of the same name, detailing his struggles with homelessness while raising his  youthful son and pursuing a career in finance.

The film was released by Columbia Pictures on December 15, 2006, and  entered critical  sun, particularly for Will Smith's performance, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Stylish Actor. The movie was a box office success, grossing over$ 300 million worldwide against a$ 55 million budget.

 2. Plot

The story is set in San Francisco in 1981 and follows Chris Gardner, a  salesperson  floundering to  vend  movable  bone-  viscosity scanners to medical professionals. Despite his  patient  sweats, the  bias are seen as  gratuitous by  numerous croakers, leading to severe  fiscal difficulties for Chris and his family. His  woman, Linda( Thandiwe Newton), becomes decreasingly frustrated with their situation and  ultimately leaves him, moving to New York to seek a better life. She  originally intends to take their son, Christopher( Jaden Smith), with her, but Chris insists that their son stay with him.

Determined to turn his life around, Chris seizes an  occasion to apply for an  overdue  externship at a prestigious stock brokerage  establishment, Dean Witter Reynolds. The  externship offers a slim chance of employment, as only one intern out of twenty will be offered a full- time position. Despite the  fiscal  difficulty and  violent competition, Chris takes the  threat, knowing that success could change his and his son's lives  ever.

As Chris juggles his  externship  liabilities with his struggles to make ends meet, he and Christopher are evicted from their apartment. They endure homelessness, spending nights in  harbors, on public transportation, and indeed in a public  bathroom. Despite these  rigors, Chris maintains his  resoluteness and works lifelessly,  frequently completing tasks in record time to leave beforehand and secure  sanctum for the night.

A turning point comes when Chris demonstrates his intelligence and problem-  working chops by  working a Rubik's cell during a  hack lift with a company  superintendent. This small palm helps him gain attention and respect within the  establishment. Chris continues to impress his associates with his  fidelity, indeed as his  particular struggles  consolidate.

In the film’s climax, Chris is called into a meeting at the brokerage  establishment. Believing he's about to be dismissed, he's  rather offered the job. Overcome with emotion, Chris holds back gashes and  courteously accepts the position. This moment of triumph is a testament to his perseverance and faith.

The film concludes with a postscript that reveals Chris Gardner went on to establish his own successful brokerage  establishment and came a millionaire. The final scene shows Chris and Christopher walking down together, a symbol of the brighter future that awaits them.
